Bribery and other law office management skills

I shall be attending a practice management seminar shortly, called “Small law firm Expo”. The theme will be to improve efficiency in the law office. I wish there would be a workshop on how to not misplace your documents as I find I spend an inordinate amount of time looking for files and documents that seem to vanish in some Bermuda Triangle in my office.

I believe there is actually a workshop called, “Running a paperless office.”  I do not know if that would help me any although some days I feel I am doing that already, albeit unintentionally.

Speaking of Russia, a survey in Russia found that more than half the people believed problems can best be solved by bribery.  Many Russians are gung ho about going for what they want by bribing government, police and other officials.

I imagine if they would have a law firm Expo in Moscow, there might be workshops such as, “Go paperless; pay the cleaners of your opposing lawyer’s office 500 rubles to remove and shred his file. ” Or there could be a useful discussion such as, “Portable high speed scanners; what is the best model to use when you find yourself alone in your opponent’s office?”  And let us not forget courtroom strategy. This workshop would definitely be a hit: “Technology in court; buy the trial judge an Apple laptop”.

Hey, I guess it’s easier than spending hours preparing a factum.
