Wal-Mart worker, fired for legal pot smoking, sues
A Michigan man has sued Wal-Mart firing him after he tested positive for medical marijuana he was using legally to treat pain from an inoperable brain tumor and sinus cancer.

Court throws the book at shoe-thrower
A man who threw a shoe at Israel's chief justice, knocking her off the bench, was sentenced to three years in jail. Shouting "you're corrupt," Pini Cohen threw two shoes from the spectators' gallery at Chief Justice Dorit Beinisch during a Supreme Court hearing in January.

Oregon man sues over rodent blasting
A man filed a $146,000 lawsuit against a pest control company, claiming he suffered hearing loss when a worker used explosives to remove rodents on his neighbour's property.

Cops greeted by naked woman holding a beer
An Arizona woman was naked and holding a beer when she opened the door to police officers on the weekend after allegedly damaging her boyfriend's car with a dog leash.

Suspect tries to swim away from cops
One of five suspects who led Winnipeg police officers on a dangerous pursuit in a stolen truck tried to elude cops by swimming across the Red River to freedom. Instead, he swam into the arms of police officers, who were waiting for him on the riverbank.

Trucker attempts to remove tooth while driving
A Kitchener truck driver is facing a careless driving charge but on the bright side, his tooth doesn't hurt anymore. Lambton County OPP say they stopped a big rig driver doing some driving dentistry along Hwy. 402.

Man accused of snowmobiling drunk in June
A New York state man was arrested after allegedly driving a snowmobile while drunk - in June. Local media report police responded a neighbourhood in Wayland, a town about 80 km south of Rochester because of reports of a man driving a snowmobile across private yards and causing damage.

Czech MPs strike sexy poses for calendar
They're cute, they're sexy, and they're politicians. A new 2011 calendar from the Czech Republic party Public Affairs is raising eyebrows around the globe because it features female members of the political party in sexy poses and often showing a little skin.

Facebook censors nipples on $40K doll
Facebook does not allow images of female nipples on their site, including breast-feeding nipples and expensive doll nipples. When Australian jewellery designer Victoria Buckley posted pictures to her Facebook page that showed a naked porcelain dolls modelling with her jewellery, Facebook told her take them down.

No more debating in your underwear in Colo. town
The days when a citizen could address the Boulder City Council  wearing only underwear may be over. The council will vote on new decorum rules in September, seven months after a resident stepped up to a microphone in his boxers.

Man tries to pay tax with 200,000 pennies
A Quebec man, fed up with his skyrocketing property taxes, carted more than 200,000 pennies down to City Hall to pay his bill. But he was denied, and asked to simply cut a cheque.
